I love bourbon drinks and I love frozen drinks, so this seemed fitting
First, start with strawberries, I used frozen strawberries because that's what I had on hand. If you're using frozen strawberries, be sure to thaw them slightly, so they blend with ease.
If you decide to use fresh berries, add more ice to give this drink a slushie-consistency. You will also need to adjust the maple syrup depending on the sweetness of your strawberries.
How to make this frozen strawberry lemonade with maple bourbon.
Now, I used a maple whiskey, from a local brewery, for a little extra kick. Jim Beam sells a maple-flavored bourbon that's amazing, but you can just add a little extra maple syrup.
To make these bourbon drinks, just add all ingredients to a blender, except the bourbon. I did it this way because I wanted to taste the ingredients, first. I'm glad I did because I needed to add more maple syrup since my strawberries were not very sweet.
After everything is blended together, add your bourbon and enjoy responsibly. Garnish with a curly lemon rind and some fresh mint.
A final note: We all know alcohol may be hazardous to your health if consumed in excess, the operation of machinery or driving after the consumption of alcohol is not advised! Enjoy responsibly!
